Citrus Canker Rule Comment Period Ends Today

Today is the last chance for anyone to file comments with the U.S. Department of Agriculture about its proposed new canker rule regulating Florida fresh citrus movement. In the first accompanying report, Florida Citrus Packers Executive Vice President Richard Kinney outlines the differences between the existing canker rule and the proposed new rule. In the second report, he explains why final rule implementation could take a while, but says he’s “very optimistic” that the rule will be adopted.
