Groundbreaking for Florida EWP Project

FL NRCS GroundbreakingFL NRCS Jesse WilsonForecasters are once again calling for an active hurricane season, but even though the last two years have been pretty quiet for Florida, there are still cleanup projects being done.

Just last week, USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service kicked off an Emergency Watershed Protection program project in Coral Gables to restore the banks Loop Canal in Coral Gables that were damaged by Hurricane Wilma. State agricultural engineer Jesse Wilson says NRCS is contributing 75 percent of the restoration cost – about 1.8 million dollars.
